Michelle Gallagher is an Irish artist and educator based in Germany.

 

'' The materials and the tactile aspects of the physical work play a key part in my practice. The themes and ideas behind my work are continuously evolving, with influences varying from female archetypes, to the environment and mythology. Sometimes a book I've read, something I've seen in my daily life can trigger the motivation to make an artwork.

With two constant themes running through my work..the female perspective and the folklore behind stones, these form a chore element across my art practice."

Michelle studied fine art sculpture and art teaching in Limerick, Ireland.
